Thank you Mum

Mother’s Day in the UK is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent every year and the day provides the ideal opportunity to pay homage to the woman that brought you into the world. Whether you choose to shower her with lavish gifts or simply treat her to a home cooked dinner, show your mum you care this Mother’s Day by reminding her why she is so important to you.

Members of staff at Forever’s UK Head Office have shown their sentimental side this week, and many have shown their love and appreciation by sharing what their mum has done for them; here is what they said…

“My mum has been supportive with everything I have decided to do in my life; she’s an incredibly strong role model and made me believe I can achieve anything.”

Sophie Pitblado – Complaints and Compliance Advisor

“Everything. She’s my best friend and favourite person and I want to be like her when I grow up! On my wedding day I wore these beautiful lace gloves that were handmade from a lady in America. It was a long process sourcing them but eventually they arrived and I loved them. On the wedding day I took them off when I was eating and sadly never saw them again – I was heartbroken. My mum, who is not a seamstress, secretly learnt how to recreate the gloves and gave them to me a few months later on Christmas Day. She’s just incredible!”

Kate Hodge – Editor and Copywriter

“I’m extremely grateful to my mum for giving me a good work ethic and inspiring my independence. It’s because of her that I aspire to be successful in my career. She’s always been there to give both my sister and I guidance and she supported us through our studies – I can’t thank her enough for that!”

Emily Short – Graphic Designer

“My mum is exceptional in a crisis. At any point in my life where I’ve needed support, she has been there. She seems to instinctively know what to do and how to handle things. I don’t know what I would do without her.”

Sara Margerrison – Head of Marketing

“My mum has always taught me how to be respectful to others and to always be kind. Even at 26 my mum is always there for me when I need her, whether it’s for a lift somewhere, making my dinner, helping with my washing or just being there when I come home from working away all weekend. I am always thankful to her.”

Sam Downes – Event and Incentives Coordinator

“I am thankful to my mum just for being my very best friend!”

Andrea Chinn – New Business Owner Coordinator

“My mum amazes me with her strength, guidance and support for our entire family; she is the glue that keeps us all together. I am also lucky to have my grandma who is the most caring lady I know, she also makes the best cakes which helps!”

Rachel Pocock – Marketing Manager

“Growing up with my mum as a single parent meant it was always very apparent to me that she put both my sister and I first. We never missed out on anything and she always encouraged us to do anything we wanted. When I moved away from home it was hard at times being away from her, but I know she is always at the end of the phone if I need her. She has always been a great support to me through tough times, whatever the distance! I really don’t know what I would do without her.”

Elizabeth Allcock – Digital Content Editor

“My wife left me two weeks before Christmas but my mum has helped me so much over the last few months – she is truly a star and my best friend.”

Mark Ford – Business Owner Support Administrator

“Oh my goodness, where do I start? I am thankful to my mum for so much: for teaching me strength to get through the tough times I never thought I’d get through; for teaching me to keep smiling despite the bad times; for teaching me right from wrong and to be honest, thoughtful, and respectful; for teaching me how to be the best mum myself, but above all she taught me to be happy! My mum really is ‘the wind beneath my wings’ and my life is a richer place for having her in it – I love my mum!”

Sarah Isaac – Front of House Co-ordinator

“My mum is always there and always knows if something is wrong even if I don’t say a word – I’m eternally thankful for her.”

Virgyl Sowah - Video Content and Digital Executive
