Creating a goal map for your health and wellbeing
Most people will have heard the phrase “you are what you eat”. Far fewer people are aware that actually ‘what you eat’ is determined by what you think and therefore determine the choices you make. It is our thoughts and beliefs that influence our feelings and behaviours that in turn shape so much of our life.
I still remember the first time I heard this idea explained; that we can change ourselves and our life for the better by changing the way that we think. I was sat in my very first personal development workshop which had been arranged by the network marketing company I had joined. The trainer at the front of the room explained in simple ways, the science of positive thinking and that when we choose to focus our minds onto what is right it stimulates our brain-cells to release a chemical called serotonin. This powerful chemical gives us positive feelings of happiness and wellbeing. Serotonin also helps us form more brain-cell connections, which helps us to have more creative ideas and find solutions to the problems we face in life. Setting goals helps us to hold onto our positive thoughts, with hope in our heart, and purpose in our actions.
Since that day, I have used what I learnt to transform both myself and my life. Through the Goal Mapping system I created, I have also helped thousands of other people to improve their life. Goal Mapping is such a truly universal system for success and it is such a wonderful feeling for me to see so many Forever Business Owners using this tool for their success and sharing it with others.
It is twenty-three years since I created my first ‘Goal Map’ and I am now creating more goal maps for all areas of my life, and achieving more than I ever have before. Some of my ‘Goal Maps’ are long-term, and others are short-term. Last year I created a nine-day ‘Goal Map’ to support me in my C9 programme. It worked so amazingly well. Firstly, by creating the map it helped me to think clearly about ‘why’ I wanted to do the C9 and what benefits it would bring to my life. By focusing on my map and looking at it first thing every day, it really helped me to stay mindful and keep my promise to myself to follow through with the entire programme.
At the end of my C9 journey I felt so great, and so attached to my ‘Goal Map’, that I changed the date and some of the details and continued to use it to help support me in maintaining my new level of balance and healthy lifestyle.
This is a classic example of why a growing number of fitness trainers, sports coaches and wellbeing therapists are using and recommending ‘Goal Mapping’ to help people change their inner thought process and stay committed to their new routine and lifestyle plan.
Creating a ‘Goal Map’ for your health, or any other area of your life, is easy, quick and free with my new ‘Goal Mapping’ software. You can download the free templates and simply follow the instructions – don’t forget to share it with your friends and family.
