Celebrating Mother's Day in 2021

In England, by the time Mother’s Day rolls around, many will have the opportunity to meet one person outdoors for recreational purposes, meaning that you may just get the opportunity to see your mum! This isn’t the case UK-wide though, or for those still shielding, or who live too far away from their mothers to avoid breaking the ‘stay local’ rule.

But we wanted to ensure no mum goes uncelebrated this Mother’s Day, so we’ve pulled together a list of activities that can be done whether you’re tentatively together, or miles apart!

Picnic in the park

If you’re lucky enough to be able to see your mum face-to-face on the day (albeit outdoors) then a picnic in the park is a perfect way to do it! Pack a blanket for sitting on and a homemade afternoon tea (complete with fizz if you’re feeling fancy!) and enjoy each other’s company in the sunshine! Why not brew up a few cups of Aloe Blossom Herbal Tea to make your afternoon tea extra delicious?

Can’t meet your mum face-to-face? Whether you’re too far apart or your plans are dampened by the notorious British weather, you can still picnic together remotely! Order some delicacies to arrive at your mum’s house and pack your own lunch, too. Do a video call remotely so that your mum can open up her gift with you.

Hit the spa

Spas may not be open just yet, but a shared at-home spa experience can make for a fun change to your normal skincare routine. Ensure you both have Forever Essential Oils and your favourite skincare range to hand and hop on a video call with a glass of bubbly. Not only will it be the kind of time-out treat we all need right now, but by sharing it together you’ll make a lasting memory! You can even treat her to our Infinite by Forever range as a luxurious Mother’s Day treat!

Whisk things up!

If your mum loves a bit of baking, why not try virtual baking together? Much like the previous two ideas, simply hop on a video call – this time in the kitchen – and try some exciting new recipes together. You’ll have lots of fun chatting away together and will end up with delicious goodies at the end of it. We’ve even got some recipes featuring Forever Lite Ultra to get you started here.

Try a fun new activity

Stay remote and find something a little bit different to try. Maybe your family could give a virtual escape room a try, or you can take turns hosting a different round of a quiz (not just a generic general knowledge one – why don’t you make it questions about mum or the family and test who really pays attention to the family antics?!). You can replicate almost anything you might do in person and make it suitable for the virtual world, so get your thinking caps on!

Write her a letter

Finally, why not write her a letter to thank her for everything she does and send it in the post? Letters are less common than they used to be and as a result they’re all the more special. A note telling her all the things you love about her could just make her day, and you can even include print outs of your favourite photos together to make it really special.
