Winter: these are a few of our favourite things…

Here at Head Office there is no denying our love for winter! The season of holiday cheer, plenty of excitement and being able to take pleasure in life’s simple offerings. We asked what some of the staff at Longbridge Manor like about this magical season and here is what they had to say…

Kate Hodge – Editor and Copywriter

I love the scents of winter: cinnamon, log fires, mulled wine, chocolate, scented candles – all these combined with quality family time just makes me feel warm and happy.

Ruth Hughes - Events Manager

It means hygge season is upon us which always makes me happy, along with log burners and mulled wine of course!

Sophie Brown – Business Owner Support Administrator

I’m a food fan and I love to cook with cinnamon, pumpkin, chocolate, apples, and all kinds of autumnal produce. At Christmas, I literally spend the whole day cooking and making homemade things as well.

Adam Tomes – Product Centre Manager

The best thing about winter is being able to close the curtains and sit in candlelight, snuggled under a blanket with the family.

Helen Shawcross – Events and Training Coordinator

Beautiful blue skies on a crisp winter’s morning.

Vanessa Williams – Graphic Designer

For me, winter and the holiday season is all about spending time with family and friends, enjoying good food and drink, celebrating the true meaning of Christmas and giving back to those in need.

Aimee Nicholson - Product specialist & FBO Support Team Leader

My favourite thing to do in winter is to go around all the gift shops and get ideas for presents, then, after a fun day of shopping, get in my pyjamas (including my fluffy slippers), light all the candles and get cosy on the sofa with my dog whilst watching a great movie with a nice glass of red wine in hand!

Hellen Empson – Head of HR & Facilities

Cold and frosty mornings – the Manor looks amazing and more beautiful than ever. Also getting home and being all cosy with the fire on and snuggled up with my dogs on the sofa.

Emma Smith – Marketing Executive

I love wrapping up for walks on crisp winter days, open fires (when the kids aren’t around), the smell of chimney smoke in the air and Christmas lights!

Dawn McCarthy – Finance Executive Administrator

Snow – and lots of it!
