Honey Glazed Steak and Aloe Vera Side Salad
For the steak:
2 sirloin steaks (about 250g each) – you can substitute for tofu or aubergine if you’d prefer a vegetarian option
3 tbsp Forever Bee Honey
½ cup water
½ cup apple cider vinegar
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
½ cup ketchup
¼ cup balsamic vinegar
¼ tsp red chilli flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
For the salad:
1 head of romaine lettuce, chopped
½ cucumber, sliced
10 cherry tomatoes, halved
1 carrot, grated
For the salad dressing:
¼ cup olive oil
2 tbsp English mustard
2 tbsp Forever Aloe Vera Gel
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp Forever Bee Honey
1 tbsp dried basil
Add the water, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, ketchup, Forever Bee Honey and chilli to a bowl and combine the ingredients. Add your steaks to the bowl and let them sit for 2 hours in the fridge, turning occasionally so the meat is marinated.
When the steaks are ready, heat a large frying pan over a medium heat and coat with cooking spray. Add the steaks to the pan and reserve the marinade for later. Season the steaks with salt and pepper and heat for around 10 minutes, turning halfway through.
Add the remaining marinade to a saucepan and bring to the boil.
Add the salad dressing ingredients to a container and shake or mix them together until they’re well combined.
Add the salad ingredients to a bowl and drizzle the dressing over the top.
Serve the steak alongside the salad and drizzle the cooked marinade glaze over the top.
